Background
Council was successful in securing $2.19m in funding through the Community and Recreational Asset Restoration Program (CRARP). Funded by the Commonwealth Government, this program assists local councils in South Australia with restoring essential community and recreational assets that were damaged during the 2022–23 River Murray flood event.
Through this funding, a suite of projects will be delivered to restore, upgrade, and protect important community and riverfront assets across the district. These works will improve the safety, accessibility, and amenity of well-used public spaces, while also ensuring that important riverfront areas are preserved for future generations.
By investing in these community assets, Council is helping to create welcoming, functional, and sustainable spaces that support recreation, tourism, and everyday community life.
