At its meeting held Wednesday 15 November 2023, Council adopted the Arts and Culture Strategic Plan as presented.

Consideration was given to all feedback received during public consultation, and Council extends gratitude to everyone that took the time to provide their thoughts and suggestions.

We encourage all community members to continue to engage with Councils on projects as they come about. Your input is invaluable in helping us shape the district in a way that benefits all.

The District Council of Loxton Waikerie invites members of the community to provide feedback on the Draft Arts and Culture Strategic Plan.

At its meeting held Wednesday 20 September 2023, Council made the following motion:

Council Resolution ORD2023-247

Moved Cr Altschwager Seconded Cr S Fowler
That Council endorse the draft Arts and Culture Strategy to go out for public consultation.

The plan provides a 5-year framework for the development and delivery of arts and culture activities throughout the district, by investigating:

• locations for arts and cultural engagement,
• improved skills development,
• networking and communication,
• improved cultural tourism offering,
• arts and cultural programming, and
• participation in community arts and cultural activities.

Public Consultation will take place between Wednesday 11 October and Wednesday 1 November 2023.

Submissions from the community are encouraged

• using the online form below,
• by email at council@lwdc.gov.au,
• by post to PO Box 409, Loxton SA 5333, or
• in person, in writing, at the Council’s offices at 35 Bookpurnong Road, Loxton or Strangman Road, Waikerie.

If you wish to present your submission to the Council in person or by advocate, please indicate that in your submission.

Written submissions will be accepted until 5.00 pm on Wednesday 1 November 2023.
