Public Consultation
Long Term Lease Agreement - Loxton North Sports Club
Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1999 s202(2).
Council is seeking community feedback on a proposed 42-year ground lease agreement with Loxton North Sports Club over a portion of Crown Land, identified as Volume 5755 Folio 635.
With no current lease in place, the proposed agreement aims to protect the interests of both the user groups and Council by formalising long-term access arrangements.
Council has been working collaboratively with Loxton North Sports Club to draft a long-term lease that supports the needs of multiple sporting and community groups, including Loxton North Football Club, Loxton North Netball Club, and Christmas Wonderland. Finalising this lease will help provide long-term certainty and support for these groups to continue delivering valued services and programs to the community.
Under Section 202(2) of the Local Government Act, Council is required to undertake public consultation before granting a lease or licence over community land.
The proposed lease agreement aims to:
- Provide secure, long-term access to community land for key user groups;
- Support the delivery of community services and recreational opportunities;
- Enable investment in infrastructure and facilities that benefit the wider community.
