Background

The Town to River - Loxton Access and Inclusion Project was instigated by the Loxton Recreation Grounds Committee in 2021, leveraging grant funding provided by the South Australian Government. Originally scheduled to commence during the 2022-2023 financial year, the Murray River flood and contractor availability constraints deferred some of the works to the 2023-2024 financial year.

The project aims to improve connectivity between East Terrace and the riverfront through the construction of a staircase and lookout area, landscaping and lighting, and installing additional pram ramps to surrounding paths.

Funding

This project has been partially funded to the amount of $258,125 by the Government of South Australia's Planning and Development Fund, under the Open Space Grant Program.
