Public Consultation
Public Consultation and Community Engagement Policy
Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1999 s50/A.
The District Council of Loxton Waikerie is seeking community feedback regarding the proposed Public Consultation and Community Engagement Policy.
The aim of the draft policy is to combine two pre-existing council documents (Public Consultation Policy and Community Engagement Policy) into a single, streamlined document that clearly articulates Council’s approach to both legislated and non-legislated consultation and engagement activities, and incorporate new legislation introduced as part of the State Government's Community Engagement Charter.
Under Section 50 of the Local Government Act 1999, Council is required to undertake public consultation when adopting a new, or amending a pre-existing, policy of this nature.
