Public Consultation

Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1999 s122(6).

The District Council of Loxton Waikerie invites members of the community to provide feedback on its Draft Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) and Draft Asset Management Plan (AMP) for 2026-2035.

The documents were reviewed at a Council workshop in January, and at a Special Meeting of the Council's Audit and Risk Section 41 Committee held Monday 2 February 2026, and were adopted for public consultation. Following consultation, submission data will then be reported back to the Council for consideration before the documents are finalised.

To understand what each plan entails and its purpose, please click on the relevant titles below.

The LTFP outlines, in financial terms, the initiatives and projects Council plans to deliver over the next decade to achieve its objectives.

It translates the goals and strategies of Council’s Business Plans into financial forecasts and allocations, ensuring long-term financial sustainability while meeting community needs.

Key features include a summary of Council operations, financial statements, and key financial indicators.

Asset Management Plans (AMPs) assist the Council in effectively prioritising and allocating resources for the maintenance, renewal, and enhancement of assets, considering both the services these assets provide and their current condition.

They play a crucial role in financial planning by promoting cost-effective asset management, maintaining established renewal ratios, and facilitating long-term budget forecasting.

AMPs are a key component of the Council’s strategic management plans as outlined in Section 122 of the Local Government Act. They are designed to align with the Council’s strategic objectives and contribute to the Long Term Financial Plan.
