Following a Council-wide playground safety audit, various pieces of non-compliant equipment will need to be removed from the Waikerie Apex Park Playground and replaced with equipment that meets current Australian standards.

Council invited community feedback to help determine which structure of play equipment should be installed, which closed Tuesday 7 November 2023. Of the three options provided by Forepark Australia, option 3 was the front runner, receiving 40.61% of all votes.

Works are scheduled to commence Wednesday 24 April 2024 with the removal large spiral slide at the playground, and preparation for the new play equipment installation set to commence on Monday 6 May 2024.

Please note that the area will be fenced off to allow for Council staff to remove existing soft fall rubber and extend the space for the new equipment.
