Background

Council is inviting submissions from the community for the naming of the new Loxton Library and Visitor Information Centre, currently under development at the former Loxton Institute at 29 East Terrace.

The new library will incorporate the existing services from the Loxton Library, and provide space to expand on these offerings to include:

  • Library services
  • Computers & printers
  • Flexible work spaces
  • Children's library and activity zone
  • Public meeting rooms
  • Community activity areas
  • Tourism services
  • Loxton and Riverland souvenirs and merchandise
  • History services
  • Historical collections and displays

This platform is designed for you to pitch your ideas, and we encourage everyone, regardless of resources or expertise, to contribute their vision. To make your submission, please use the form below, and take some time to read through the entries of other community members.

Results will be provided to the Community Award Assessment Panel, with their recommendation to be presented to Council at an upcoming Council meeting.

Entries close 5pm Wednesday 12 June 2024.

Hardcopy forms are also available at the Loxton Council Office, and Loxton and Waikerie Library & Visitor Information Centres if required.

What should we name the new Loxton Library & Visitor Centre?

Submit your ideas using the form below! Please provide your email address if you wish to have your contact details associated with your submission.
